There is a strong almost irresistible tobacco lobby in Congress and the media to snuff out the campaign warning the public of the hazards of smoking. Congratulations to ABS-CBN News Cable (ANC) for their news report on the suit filed by a group of doctors against Philip Morris for violation of the requirements of the law that they should put pictures in their warnings against the hazards of smoking in their labels. Congratulations are in order because everybody knows that tobacco advertisers are a formidable force in the industry, they can cause a decline in revenues by pulling out ads — it takes commitment to stand up to them.
